It’s all about dramatic looks this year; platform wedges, high-waisted bottoms and large jewelry accents are all on the radar for 2011. You can create a bold and impressive style by choosing a few accent items to amp up your look and mixing big styles with classic staples. One of the key accessory pieces for this year are cuff bracelets and, the bigger the better! So for this week’s edition of What to Wear This Weekend, I give you three of my favorite picks in the cuff department and the perfect outfits to go with them.
If you’re a boho kind of gal, snag a stone-accented cuff bracelet like Glow by Sheila Fajl’s Howlite Cuff. I love gold jewelry pieces that are brought to life by bright and bold stones; they add so much color and panache to any outfit! For a super bohemian chic look, choose a loose, printed scarf tie blouse and tuck it into a pair of high-waist denim shorts. Elevate your look with a pair of leather wedge sandals and show off your gorgeous locks by softly tousling your hair.
For an ultra contemporary look, try something like Stately Steel’s High Polished Modern Cuff. This cool cuff’s unique style combines geometric edge with curvilinear design in a shiny polished steel finish. Rock the town with a pair of black leggings, peep-toe platform ankle boots, and top off with an oversized gray tunic sweater. Accentuate your waist by cinching up with a black leather belt and put on a pair of silver chain tassel earrings for some rock star-ish chic edge. Let your hair down and hit the town!
I love classic contemporary style combined with exotic accents, so a bracelet like V by Eva’s Serpent of Venice Cuff is a perfect piece to accentuate this type of look. I always insist that black and white is a never-fail combination, so pair some black skinny pants and black suede pumps with a white tee beneath a black blazer for a casual, yet sophisticated look. Pull your hair up into a high, sleek pony tail and empower your style with a pair of gold hoop earrings. This, combined with your bold and exotic snake cuff, will command everyone’s attention – no matter where you are.
I’m excited to see all of the great cuff designs that are out there and so glad that they are making a comeback. I can’t wait to wear a few of the cuff bracelets I’ve had on hiatus for a while, as well as buy new ones! Rose gold is hot for spring, so I’ll be sure to snatch a cuff in this metal. Personally, I’m feeling a little exotic these days, so I’ll be sure to make a statement with a snake-inspired cuff this weekend. What’s your mood?
