There is just something about the winter season that makes me want to sparkle and shine. And sure, I love a great sequined mini or shimmery tunic as much as the next girl, but sometimes itÂ’s better to shine more subtly. There are some excellent extras out for this season that will make all your friends swoon with envy. Sequins and glitter arenÂ’t just for after-hours anymore. Now you can shine from breakfast through dinner. Here are my picks for the best sparkles of the season. These pieces will make you really glow.
Sequined bag. Everyone is clutching a sequined purse this winter, and there are a variety of options that will work for day or evening. At night, grab a glittery clutch in elegant black to elevate your look. During the daytime hours, choose a chain-strap bag to punch up a basic sweater, jeans and boots combination. You really can’t go wrong with this one, as long as your sparkles are neutral — black, gold and silver will be extremely versatile.
Sparkly necklace. Draw attention to your lovely face with a sparkly necklace. A great version is available at H&M for just $15 — a ribbon strand with piles of shimmery beads that hang at the collarbone. This piece will be perfect for holiday parties, or just for fun during the day.
Metallic ring. Cocktail rings are so fun. Whether youÂ’re wearing one statement piece on a single finger, or piling on the bling, the look is edgy and modern. Pick one thatÂ’s metallic so that it catches the light when you move your hand. I wear my shimmery rings all the time, and they always get compliments!
Glittery hat. I have recently developed a love of sequined berets, and they are wonderful for two reasons: 1) If you are having one of those days when your hair just refuses to cooperate, then they are a quick fix, and 2) You will look oh-so-cool while keeping warm. Obviously, the latter is my favorite reason to wear them!
Sequined belt. Draw the eye to your smallest section by investing in a great sequined belt. A thick version is very pretty for the season, and will look perfect cinching a sweater, dress or blazer. This is a piece I wear so much during the winter. It spices up any look.

Sequence is the best thing to make any lady feel pretty. My favorite time to wear it is of course on New Years Eve.
