Wigs for Dogs Who Love Fashion

WeÂ’ve all seen celebrities toting around toy dogs like theyÂ’re accessories. Fluffkins is always wearing a diamond-studded collar and fashion couture worth more than your whole wardrobe put together.

Paris Hilton and Britney Spears arenÂ’t the only ladies who like to deck out their dogs. In fact, my mom, who breeds chihuahaus, gets yearly photos (taken by professional photographers) from several clients every year. And nine times out of ten, those yappy companions are wearing custom outfits.

The last time I visited my folks, there was a picture of one such fur-baby on my momÂ’s fridge. Snookie was sporting a pink ball gown and a long, blonde wig. Yep, I said it. A wig.

I’d never seen a dog wig outside of silly Halloween costumes, but this was clearly no joke. Snookie was workin’ it. In a big way. I asked my mom, where one would procure such an interesting pup accessory and her reply astounded me. “Lots of places.”

So, as any good daughter would do, I challenged her answer and set out on a mission to prove her wrong. I hopped online and typed in “dog wigs.” To my utter astonishment, thousands of results popped up. Mom-1, Jessi-0.

The assortment of dog wigs is just as varied as the human variety. From toupees to punk-inspired, to Saturday night at the club, you can find any fashion your little pooch desires.

As I browsed the vast selection of doggy-quaff professionals, I came upon Wiggles Dog Wigs. This site offers a selection of wigs and extensions with names like “Doll Face” and “Sarah Palin” (and yes, there’s a picture). In addition to the available styles for sale, they offer wig maintenance advice and help on measuring your dog for the perfect fit. After all you wouldn’t want it to look silly.

If you’d like to amp up your canine’s style, you should consider finding “the” wig for him or her. It’ll keep your wiener dog on the cutting edge of fashion.

Check out the silliness here.
