WouldnÂ’t it be great to be able to walk into a salon once or twice a week and drop a couple Ben Franklins on beauty treatments? Unfortunately, most of us, have a reality thatÂ’s, well, a
touch less extravagant. That doesnÂ’t mean we should forego treating ourselves to some well-deserved pampering on a regular basis. There are endless beautifying techniques that you can do at home without spending a fortune.
One of the best treatments you can indulge in is the do-it-yourself facial. These benefit your skin by exfoliating while cleaning your pores for a healthy, stunning glow.
The bonus with the DIY variety is that you donÂ’t even have to go out and buy a bunch of special oils, powders, or other fancy ingredients. Here are five facial recipes that are made from items you probably already have in your kitchen:
Cucumber Split:
Mash up a banana and throw it in a blender with half of a peeled cucumber. Add 1 tablespoon of honey and a half of a cup of lemon juice. Blend ingredients until they have an even consistency. Apply treatment to your face and rinse with lukewarm water after 30 minutes.
Egg White:
Add 3-6 drops of lemon juice to a plain egg white. Beat together. Smooth onto your face and allow it to dry (about five minutes). Apply second layer, again allowing to dry. Let mask set for 10 more minutes before rinsing.
Honey Lemon:
Add 2 tablespoons of cooked, instant oatmeal to ½ a cup of honey and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Apply mixture to your face and allow it to sit for 20 minutes before rinsing.
Banana Orange:
Mash ½ of a banana. Add 1 tablespoon each: honey and orange juice. Apply mixture to your face and allow it to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing.
Oatmeal:
Beat 1 egg white with 1 teaspoon orange juice. Add in 2 tablespoons instant oatmeal. Apply mixture to your face and allow it to set for 20 minutes before rinsing.
Being good to yourself is the goal, and you donÂ’t have to go broke to achieve it. Chances are, you have everything you need for a top-notch, rejuvenating spa treatment, right in your very own pantry. You can be a do-it-yourself glamour diva and spoil yourself without anyone ever knowing your homemade, budget-friendly beauty secret.
