As is often the case with celebrities: they wear the same dress to events. Lucky for most celebrities, they don’t have the same experience of Samantha in Sex and City 2 where the middle age Samantha realizes that teen-queen Miley Cyrus is wearing the same dress that she is at a movie premier.
Here are two celebrities wearing the same Devon light denim dress from Vroom by Joy Han:
On the left is E! channel’s Giuliana Rancic, who styled her dress more casually with shiny, bronze ballet flats, a sparkly diamond ring, an oversized watch, and a small pendant necklace. Giuliana also opted for the one-shouldered version of the dress and is shown wearing it with her hair down, but totally styled. All in all, Giuliana chose to style her dress as a summery, beach look.
On the right is the actress from the upcoming film Pretty Little Liars – Shay Mitchell. Shay opted for the strapless version of the dress and wore it with black, open-toe booties. She also wore a simple, multi-strand black necklace and styled her hair primarily to one side. Shay’s overall look is dressy and more punk rock because of the black accessories and more elegant, side-sweeped hair.
But who wore it better? I like Guilana’s summer take on the dress. Her look could be worn to the beach, a summer barbeque, or another casual but classic event. I’m also a sucker for cute ballet flats and I love that she mixed in metallic with a denim-style dress. I also personally prefer her choice of the one-shouldered style of the dress. I think having the single strap deemphasizes the baby doll shape of the dress and makes it much more flattering. It also adds en element of practicality, as I can envision her actually wearing this dress in her real life.
But I do like Shay’s modern, punk twist on such a simple, sweet dress. Shay shows that even though the main piece of an outfit may look cute and basic, you can totally change the overall look of an outfit through careful accessorizing and hair and makeup. I also think her open toe booties are so much fun and add an extra spice to this look!
