Ruffles are so much fun to wear this spring! Even better, ruffles are great to use to alter your body’s appearance and hide unwanted imperfections. Anyone can wear ruffles and they add a fun flirty element to any outfit. This season, ruffles are no longer for only ultra feminine outfits. Ruffles can add a sexy edge to any outfit. Here are a few tips on how to style this trend:
1. Large ruffles add fullness to any area of the
body they cover. This can sometimes be great, but make sure you don’t wear big ruffles anywhere that you want to look smaller.
2. But small, delicate ruffles don’t always add fullness. Instead, smaller ruffles can add a cool texture to an otherwise boring piece of clothing.
3. If you have a small chest, try adding ruffles to your bust area to help make you appear bigger there. For women who are smaller on top, big ruffles on a bikini top can help even out your body and look more full.
4. If you have a larger bust, you can still wear ruffles on top. Just find a top with a small and mostly vertical patch of smaller ruffles. Wearing a small patch of ruffles at the center of your chest will draw the eye inward and actually flatter the look of a larger bust.
5. If you have wider hips and narrower shoulders, try wearing a top with ruffles near your shoulders to make your body appear proportional.
6. Regardless of your body type, nearly every woman looks good in a full, ruffled skirt. Just make sure to pick a skirt where the ruffles aren’t too big, but are larger and more drapey.
7. Ruffles can also always be worn on bags or shoes. But only choose shoes with ruffles if your feet are on the smaller size; ruffles will make big feet appear even larger.
