Well all, I was reading Bazaar the other day and noted an interesting bit of news. It seems the wealthy curled darlings of the celebrity nation have just discovered a new fashion trend. Wait for it….Wearing an outfit more than once!
Yes, my sarcasm might be a bit overblown here, for it is true that socialites, actors and celeb wanna-beÂ’s do get trashed by the media (and I use that term loosely) if they are photographed in a look that the Paps have seen before. However, in the brave new economic world we are all facing, it seems that even the best and the brightest and the most fashion forward are willing to take a page from the regular galÂ’s book and reinvent a look.
For example, Jemima Khan (English socialite and a darling of fate and fortune if there ever was one) was seen wearing the same long blue Roland Mouret dress on more than one occasion. She accessorized with a thin black belt on one outing and a wide pink and black one the following month, giving a completely different feel to each wearing.
For those of us who, as the legendary Diana Vreeland used to say, have more dash than cash, this is not exactly a new concept. I would even go so far as to say that we who have to be creative will ultimately develop a more honed and personal style. If you are forced to really re-think that black jacket (belt it, wear it with a thin scarf, pair with the new baggy pants and a tank) instead of just running out and buying whatever is newest, you will learn to wear only the version of a trend that works best for you.
Try these re-thinks on for size: a full skirt from a few years ago with a chunky strappy heel, the new baggy and distressed jeans with the ballet flats from last year, a jumpsuit with an armload of mixed up bracelets from your jewelry box.
Now all of you, and not Eva, Anne, Jemima, or who ever else is the style darling of the moment, will be the one with the most style.

Wow. What a remarkable discovery they have made! Haha! I was a fashion design major, and I love fashion, but some parts of the industry just do not live in the same world as most of us.
Gasp…Wearing something more than once? Nice that some people have a little perspective! I love remixing my closet! Great post!
Awesome post!! I love the wardrobe redux idea! Rethink what you own and you may find a gem.
