Let me preface with “I love Chris March!” from Project Runway. I liked him from the onset. His rotund frame and jovial laughter warmed my icy heart. I always knew that Christian was going to end up on the final three (talented but cold he is) and I had high hopes for Jillian. However here is my two cents on Rami:
- While I loved loved his first Grecian drapery dress, it got old quick and he seems like a one trick pony!
- I started not liking him after that one episode when I felt he was insufferably rude to Sweet Pea (whose dress that episode was far superior to his! Karma sucks huh? Ha!)
- Lastly, I did not like his looks for the final runway show. While we all thank god he didn’t parade a string of Grecian gowns in different colors and fabrics, I felt the fit was all wrong and it was nothing new or inspiring.
Now let’s talk about Chris March and his use of HUMAN HAIR EXTENSIONS in his design work!
So the collar and trim of the jacket is lined with human hair extensions. At first I was a touch repulsed by the idea of human hair collars, but actually I think it was well designed and the idea of combing my jacket and flat ironing my coat kinda tickles me.
I think its high time that some wit be interjected into the stuffy realm of high fashion!
I actually thought this dress was pretty. The hair extensions skirt looks nice and silky. More like fine mohair, one would never guess it was made of human hair. Also, I would have a field day at a party wearing this skirt and creating tall tales of how I was able to attain the scalps of hundreds of raven haired women!
If you would like to experiment with hair extensions in your apparel click here, or any of the “hair extension” links in the post.
So that’s my opinion, what’s yours?
Hair Scare? or Hair Dare?Â

He’s a funny guy, he made the show happy, Good luck to chris.
While I think Chris did a good job, I think “human hair” is not appropriate to wear on clothes under any circumstance. He just went too far. A fuax trim would have been better.
He’s a funny guy, that for sure
but I don’t see anything wrong with “HUMAN HAIR” I believe he has great idea’s and I like that.
Great ideas are great but it is possible to think so far out of the box that very few if any can relate.
I loved his use of human hair… it’s relevant to the Victorian feel of his designs. It is reminiscent of the hair jewelry from that time period but much darker and more daring. Way to go Chris! Sorry you were robbed of the competition but you still showed at Bryant Park! I hope there are many good things in store for you!
If you can wear human hair extensions in your hair then why not on your clothes?? I thought chris’s looks were far more exciting but you knew the stuffy judges were going to pick rami, BORING!
Chris is a talented sweetie, but the poor guy was dozing off on the couch during challenges. That’s not the way you win it.
I liked that he took chances, like on the human hair extensions. My first reaction was “Ew!” but after I saw the finished product I changed my mind.
I think Chris March is a wonderful talent and I loved watching him on Project Runway this year!! I was so sorry he was not chosen to be one of the top three because he was truly an inventive designer. I was not impressed with Rami’s work at all, yes, he does drape well but the rest is just OK. I also want to say that I loved Sweetpea’s designs. She made some outfits that I would buy in a heartbeat. I would have loved to see what she would have done for fashion week.
I loved to see the judges squirm! How can they be so repulsed?? At least no one was skinned when Chris used the human hair- not like the fur products the designers use. Now they know how anit-fur people feel when they see real fur products.
I like Chris & wish he had made it to the final 3. Loved his clothes. Someone out there will latch onto him & he will make it big as a designer. Good luck Chris.
This is horrifying. This hair should be going to kids with cancer, Locks of Love…not some models and designers who need shock effect to make a name for themselves!
I loved the look! I think the hair looked very sleek, and the outfits he made were very stylish and sophisticated. I loved that dark thing he has going there, I would’ve rather him go to the final…I agree, Rami is a one trick pony.
Anyway, I was wondering, Chris didn’t get a place in fashion week but why is his collection being showcased on runway?
Good question Stephanie!! I noticed there were a couple of designers from “Project Runway” that showed during Fashion Week but were eliminated on the show. I’m really confused because I thought it was a very selective process. How does this work????
Chris was my favorite is the cometition. He wasn’t afraid to do what he liked, it and came out beautifully made. I think he should have been in the final three, but I didn’t think he would win.
