Okay, I’m all for self expression and fashion risks, but Lil Mama is testing me with this outfit. Here’s her explanation from the VMA pre-show: “This is the birth of hip-pop and IÂ’m basically the baby of that. Keeping it fresh with my styz-ile.” Well, first of all, I’m pretty certain that “hip-pop,” as she call it, has been around for awhile now. I mean, honestly, isn’t every hip hop track that hits the radio, hip POP? And second, even if it really were the dawn of hip pop, why does that need to be symbolized with a jeweled up pacifier, bonnet and white leggings? Subtlety goes a long way, Lil Mama. I’m surprised she didn’t have someone wheel her out in a stroller. Oh, well, she’s young, she’ll recover and probably cringe when she thinks back on this in 5 years.

I’m guessing that the “Lil” before her name is short for “Little Brain” …
I thought her was very cute…Go Head Mama…keep doing what you do…
