Va-va-va-voom! Keira Knightly is so unbelievably gorgeous in these new Chanel ads. And, according to The Independent, despite all the professional makeup and lighting in effect in this photo, it was Keira’s natural beauty that won her the prize of being the face Coco Mademoiselle. Chanel artistic director Jacques Helleu told the British paper he decided Keira was his girl after seeing Pride and Prejudice, the Jane Austen flick in which the actress reportedly goes commando in the makeup department:
“For me, Keira embodied perfection itself. She was remarkable without any kind of decoration. And I thought that if this is how she was bare, then I could imagine how wonderful she would be embellished.”
I believe this because, recently, a friend of mine in the Smarter offices had a Keira Knightly sighting at Cafe Med in LA’s Sunset Plaza, and all she could talk about was the actress’ “perfect skin.” Lucky Keira. Sigh.
She’s definitely in good company as former faces of Chanel include Catherine Deneuve, Vanessa Paradis, Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman.
