Macy’s Tags Local Designers

Macy’s is set to purchase fall collections from Chicago designers in order to win the hearts of Marshall Field’s devotees who are still mourning the loss of the famed department store. Macy’s took over the beloved Marshall Fields, known for top-notch service and quality, last year causing a ruckus and inspiring many a movement to save the classic Chicago store.

In an effort to sooth some very hesitant Chicago shoppers, the State St. Macy’s will feature 47 up-and-coming designers  of clothing and accessories.  Ori’en, Bya Denim, Tivi and Elizabeth Brady are a few names that will be available. They’ll also keep the lines around for the whole season.

Sounds like a good idea to me.
