Shoppingblog.com reports that the Ghost Whisperer, herself, Jennifer Love Hewitt is the latest celebrity to forgo an actual education in fashion and become an honorary “fashion designer.” That’s right. For whatever reason, JLo Hewitt is joining Stone America to unleash a clothing collection called “Timeless” on the fame-obsessed public. Now, I have nothing specific against Hewitt, but I’ve also ever regarded her as having a particularly strong POV, and after the latest disappointment of Sarah Jessica Parker’s Bitten, I’m so done with this stuff.
For what it’s worth, Hewitt says she “came up with the idea of Timeless because [she] wanted to create a fashion collection that speaks of elegance and lasting style, but still shows off today’s fashion and trends.” Stone America, for their part, says the “goal” is to create “an ageless classic line that carries key elements of comfort, quality, fashion and value, and captures her natural energy, beauty and passion.” The key word here is “value,” which in today’s retail market generally means cheap. Sorry.
The company is also behind Amanda Bynes upcoming line, which makes even less sense than Hewitt’s. Sigh, why fight it?
