    Have You Been Minxed Yet?

If you follow celebrity fashion or keep in touch with the latest music videos, you might be wondering why the nails that the ladies are sporting look extra spunky these days.  It is thanks to a revolutionary new nail treatment called Minx made from flexible film strips applied to the nails using a heat lamp.  The high gloss, long wearing coating takes about 15-20 minutes for application and needs absolutely no drying time, therefore avoiding accidental smudging or denting.  They are supposed to last for 1-2 weeks without chipping.  To remove them at home you just warm up the film with a hair dryer and peel it off.

So, if you are tired of your run of the mill, timid polishes and can’t stand fake nails either, check out Minx’s stunning array of selection.  The solids are anything but boring (think gold metallic like Beyonce in “Single Ladies” or chrome silver) .

The patterns range from intricate, delicate bridal laces to bold and brash animal prints.  You could even custom design a favorite photo into a nail coating.  How is that for a choice?  If you are worried about any harsh chemicals in the formula, you can relax.  Since it requires only heat for application and removal, it contains no harmful substances and is totally eco-friendly.

This hot new trend sported by the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Pink, Fergie, Christina Aguilera, Victoria Bekham among others, can now be found at Spa Nordstorm Escape. Or, to find a Minx nail salon in your part of the country, try the spa finder at Minxnails.com.  At Nordstorm , getting a minx treatment would cost you $50 including manicure and just $30 without manicure.

Perfume Wars: P. Diddy Wants a Smell Off

So first it was Kanye West and 50 Cent with their much publicized album selling competition, and now, in more publicity stunt news, P.Diddy is challenging Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwen Stefani to a fragrance face off, or a “smell off” as he calls it. Oh goodness. It seems that the Diddy was inspired to challenge his celebrity perfumer contemporaries because as he says, “I am a man, and I know how a woman should smell.”  I don’t know how much confidence I have in this claim though, considering the tone of the ad for his new perfume, Unforgivable Woman. Isn’t it kind of strange? If you ask me, it looks like he’s giving that woman a little unwanted attention. Now that’s unforgivable.

The only one who’s answered Diddy’s battle call so far is Mariah Carey, who replied with this pithy retort:

“I heard about this competition, and I wish Puff all the best with his new fragrance, but I think we’re actually appealing to different types of women. M by Mariah Carey is about being unforgettable, not unforgivable. It’s not about a ménage à trois or a one night stand, it’s for the woman who wants the man to fall in love with her immediately, stay in love, and treat her like royalty.

Haha! Good one, Mariah.  Get a new ad, P. Diddy.

The Real M by Mariah Carey Ads

Remember a couple of weeks ago when those fake M by Mariah Carey ads were making the rounds?  Well, the real one is here and it’s pretty, but that’s all I can say about it.  It has a Calvin Klein Obsession feel to it, but it’s in color. At first I thought this might be a fake, too, because of the tagline:“An ethereal presence captivating like a song.”  That’s a little much, isn’t it?

But I digress.  Here’s the ad:
