Clinically proven to improve the firmness of your skin and eliminate wrinkles in 2 weeks, the new Garnier Ultra-Lift Pro is an “anti-aging revolution from nature”. The product gets its special lift from Pro-Xylane, a natural sugar extract from beech trees that help improve the elasticity and vibrancy of your skin, pushing wrinkles from the inside out to plump and fill out your face. The treatment is in 3 steps with 3 separate products:

    1. Garnier Ultra-Lift Pro: The Wrinkle Roller: $9.50

Essie Loves Diamonds, but Who Doesn’t?

If the recession has held you back in the purchase of fine jewelry, you may find some satisfaction by indulging in diamond infused nail polishes. $15 is pretty expensive for a nail color but not that shabby if you have an insatiable appetite for diamonds on your fingers.

Essie just launched a limited edition three color nail collection with the help of renowned jewelry designer, Judith Ripka. The colors are “Heart My JR Jewels”, a dark-burgundy, “put a Ripka Ring on it”, a soft blush and “Queen of Hearts”, a bright lipstick red.

The diamond dust in the polish adds extra sparkle and glamour hopefully making up for scaled down Tiffany purchases. But there’s hope yet for you to snag that real piece of rock. Essie has announced that three separate bottles of nail polishes that it has sent out, contains one diamond, one sapphire and one emerald each. So I’ll keep my  fingers crossed for all of you…

Soap Leaves - So Pretty I May Never Wash My Hands!

    Soap Leaves - Wrapables.com - Personal Care

See there are some things that are seriously only marketed to women, well women and gay men. :) And there is a reason for that, it’s because “we” appreciate attention to details and beauty. Duh!

Which is why I now present to you the Soap Leaves from Wrapables.com.

They look so pretty, delicate and fragile… if I saw them in someone’s bathroom I would be torn. For two reasons:

    1. They are so pretty I wouldn’t want to use them because I would assume that they cost a small fortune
    2. The naughty part of me would consider stealing them and putting them in my bathroom. (I know, I know…bad Michelle, bad!)

Plus check out the fancy official description from Wrapables:

The soap is made through a process in which soap resin is mixed with a secret Thai formula, then hand poured over a dried and cured lattice-like frame of real mango tree leaves to form individual soaps of unmatched exquisiteness. These are sure to be a conversational piece. Comes in packs of 20 honey-scented soap leaves in an acetate box perfect for gift-giving. Each leaf is good for one or two washings. (Source: Wrapables.com)

    Soap Leaves - Wrapables.com - Personal Care

Cost $12.95 for a box of 12 (each leaf is good for 1 or 2 washes) so if you carry the five and divide by 6…. wow that’s math I can’t do in my head. Ha! Suffice to say I pretty much want them…

What do you guys think? Want or Waste?

    Mineralize Eyeshadows from M.A.C. Makeup

Mineralize Eyeshadows from MAC - Cosmetics

So you notice that the 80’s are back in full swing, influencing everything from hyper colored clothing to hairstyles to makeup. As long as it doesn’t come back in full “Working Girl/Valley Girl” force, I can deal. I don’t think I could live through another era of football esque shoulder pads. :(

Well I actually like these new mineralized eye shadows from M.A.C. makeup, they are not as garish as they look. They are two mineralized eye shadows in one large compact. One shade features a mélange of three shades, the other provides a complementary or contrasting solid shade. They provide this pearlized finish that is very pretty when used sparingly or at certain points of the eye (highlight by the brow line, or right along the lash line) but if you put too much it can be overwhelming. (Translation: you will look like Mimi from Drew Carey Show)

Anyhow the color is very build able so I leave it to your discretion and taste level… have fun! :)

Smashbox Primer Light is a Good Thing

Posted January 9, 2008 by valentina

Well, it’s certainly no secret that I’ll bow to the altar of a good makeup primer any day of the week. And I think this new Smashbox Photo Finish Light ($36) is about to get worshiped.

When I was first introduced to the concept of primer, Smashbox did the initiating, but then I found Lorac liquid primer, and I jumped ship because it was so much lighter and less drying. However, as I primed my face every morning, I often wondered why Smashbox hadn’t made a liquid primer. “There’s would be so good!,” I thought.

Well, lo and behold, they’ve heard my cries and come out with Photo Finish Light, a whole bottle of which a dear friend was nice enough to bestow upon me. I really, really like it. It’s very light, super affective, and it doesn’t peel. Fantastic.

I use it after moisturizing and before foundation, but really, I think it’s moist enough to go on a naked face.

Anne Hathaway is the New Face of Lancome

Another year, another advertising contract. Well, for Anne Hathaway at least. The actress has just been named the new face of Lancôme and will appear in ads promoting the company’s upcoming fragrance later this year.

Here’s what Odile Roujol, President of Lancôme International has to say about the union:

“Anne Hathaway is a radiant young woman who perfectly embodies modern femininity. We know she will portray all the passion and excitement of our new fragrance, to be launched throughout the world in September 2008.”

Kylie really wants us to smell like her. She’s about to release her third fragrance, Showtime, which is supposed to represent her vivacious stage personality. Word has it that it will be fruity, mixing strawberry and loganberry with florals, sweet licorice and pralines . It’s set for a February release in the UK, but it’s unclear when it will surface in the U.S. Sit tight, Kylie fans.
