Beauty Tips- Dye Your Eyelashes - Smarter Beauty Tip

My friends and I are going to Vegas in a few weeks and we are all going to a spa together. Part bonding, part we don’t gamble and don’t have anything else to do while the guys gamble…  :)

So we were perusing the features available at the hotel we are staying at and we all decided that we want to get facials, massages and one of my friends suggested we get our eyelashes dyed!

Hmm… interesting. I have never done this and I was wondering if it’s a good idea? I mean not to be silly but if you don’t have much lashes (I’m Asian) to begin with how remarkable will it really be to dye the few strands present? Then again I suppose the sole purpose of mascara is to darken and thicken the eyelashes you have correct? So maybe this whole dyeing eyelashes thing does that for you without the fuss.

What I want to know from anyone who comes across this is:

    • Is dyeing your eyelashes worth it?
    • Is it safe?
    • How long does it last?

That is all. Maybe I’ll do it and keep you guys posted, that way I can expense the process and chalk it up as research for this blog. Ha!

Lash tinting is NOT safe… from what I have read… i use a product called Revitalash and it has made my lashes thicker; and darker because they are thicker… you may want to give it…

I did it years ago and it was safe. But if your lashes are thin it’s not going to make much difference and you’ll still need mascara. I have long, light, fine lashes and didn’t notice any difference after the dye. It lasted about 2-3 weeks. I didn’t think it was worth it and haven’t done it again since.

I’ve had it done several times, and I think it’s wonderful! As long as you have it done somewhere reputable that uses natural dye, it’s fine. I don’t know about the deal with not having many lashes…I have long full lashes, they just happen to be so light that you can barely see them normally. LOL So it works great for me. I do it in the summer, so that if I want to go without makeup, people can still see that I have eyes. It doesn’t make them any thicker, you still have to use mascara for that, but for light-lashed people like me, it is well worth it!

Well, I really dont know. Asian’s have very, very beautiful eyes with out any makeup so I think that you shouldn’t6 sye your eyelashes.

It is dangerous. If you only have a few lashes to begin with, it won’t really make a difference. You should consider lash extensions, but then you have to keep up with it and it’s expensive. The revitalash is is an excellent product. On special occasions I just put on some falsies, though. They are fun and you can buy several different styles.

I actually work in the field and do lash tinting, it is safe IF you go to a reputable person that knows what they are doing and are using the appropriate dye. Revitalash is a great product but doesn’t do what lash tinting does. Lash tinting darkens the lashes and makes them look longer by dye the tips that get lightened from the sun and such. It usually lasts for about 4-6 weeks.

Jitty - Really? You don’t have anything better to do? Have you never heard, “Whatever floats your boat and doesn’t sink mine.”

hi i was just wondering how old do you have to be to get your eyelashes dyed cos im 12 and want to get them dyed black because all the teachers in school keep wiping my make-up off me
and im only trying to prove a point
i did tell them id go as far as it takes

oh and who ever that was who sed that you would have to be shallow to get your eyelashes dyed well shallow means you like love yourself or something and someone obviously doesnt love them selves if they want to get their eyelashes dyed to change the colour ( im in year 7 and even i can tell you that)

I am a straight GUY (25y.o.) and would consider doing that myself.
I don’t think it’s shallow to take care of one’s looks. After all, one gets a more fulfilling sex life this way.
