E.l.f. Make-up - Cheap but is it any good? Will my face break out?

Elf Makeup - Affordable Cosmetics - Low Priced Makeup

Okay so I have received more than one email about $1 dollar makeup from E.L.F Cosmetics (Eyes, Lips, Face) and a series of rumors about their orgins, etc.

Which is genius if that is their viral marketing scheme because it works. Plus the key with all women is if you price something cheap enough (Hello- What else can you get now a days for only a dollar?!)  then odds are women will try it. The way we think is, even if it sucks - it only costs a dollar right?  :)

My only reservation is that I have really sensitive skin so I hesitate to try this cosmetic line in case I break out into a holiday cosmetic nightmare! Plus believe it or not, I would still like some feedback from you lovely ladies on what items are actually worth trying from this site?  I think that information would not only benefit me but fellow beauty readers as well.

So spill it girls, what is worth trying at E.L.F cosmetics

DON’T try!!! most of their products are made in china, and you have NO idea what they do to their products! so… DON’T try it! i was tempted, but seriously, the really good products are MORE than a dollar, so when you see ELF, what do you think? hmmmmm…

tiff, you do realise that chanel and dior are made in china as well? they just put france on the bottle/garment… they ship ingradients to use cheaper labour and factories and it’s a fact and they don’t even deny it :)

I have purchased a few things from ELF because, they were a dollar. The lip products are good and the brushes are great. Not a fan of the eyeshadows, blush, or mascara.

I have tried ELF products & still currently use them. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the lip plumper. The shadows are great as well. I haven’t tried the foundation/mineral makeup, but its my next purchase.

Their makeup is kind of preteen but some of it like their plumping gloss is decent, I do order from their if I need something for a special outfit but not for daily wear.

The mineral makeup has the exact same ingredients as Bare Minerals…

I have been using e.l.f. mineral foundation and concealer for several months and have had no problems. I also have used their mineral blush and am happy with that, also. I checked their ingredients and they seem to be the same as other higher-priced products that I have used

Check out their site and then decide.

In the cosmetics and makeup industry, the latest trend is mineral makeup. Mineral makeup is a great alternative for many reasons. You can find it being offered vis upscale counters, your local mom and pop store, as well as many online shops. You may be asking if this product is something you are open to use, how will it affect my skin, and how pricey will this be? Getting enough information about this latest craze will help you decide if this specific item fits your needs.

How is Mineral Makeup Different than the Rest?

A major question to ask is what makes mineral makeup different than other products? The answer is that mineral makeup is composed of all natural ingredients, and a quality brand will have no chemicals at all, strictly natural. For the health conscience consumer this is of major importance, as it is beneficial for your skin with continual use and overall health.

Just as important, mineral makeup is composed of natural minerals found in nature as in rocks, and the food we eat. Combining minerals in various degrees will result in numerous different colors to be created and used. Because of this, mineral makeup is attractive to implement in all types of makeup including foundation and eye shadow.

Mineral makeup allows you an alternative choice of healthier types of skin application. Because of the many beautiful colors available and providing you a natural product, its the right combination choice for a great look, and a healthy alternative.

I think this stuff is great, the ingredients in the ELF mineral makeup are EXACTLY the same thing as bare minerals EXCEPT the ELF prducts do not have mineral oil in them. This fact is a big deal for me because I have very sensitive skin and the bare minerals (though i loved it) made my skin break out. You can view all of the ingredients of ELF products on their website. Some of their stuff is really low quality and not worth the buck they cost (pencil eye liner, mascara, pencil lip liner) but the new “studio” brand they have now is better but it is little more expensive (three bucks instead of one) I love the lip plumper, it works great, and i LOVE LOVE LOVE the eye cream duo’s. Overall i think the stuff works just as well and the very pricey bare minerals and clinique that i used to use and i now own a TON of ELF cosmetics and love it!

i’ve used the lip glosses from ELF- found them at a Big Lots Store. They are good– maybe not my fav ( I love MAC) but definitly worth the $1! I’d like to try the mineral makeup from ELF!

I was just got introduced to ELF’s cosmetics two months ago, and I have placed 4 orders already. I LOVE their products… although on my last order I was missing 2 items but I called customer services right away and they shipped them that same day.

Many girls think it’s not good quality make up since i’ts only a dollar… Actually the stuff is really small (more like travel size) online the products look really big… That’s one reason why it’s a dollar i guess… but don’t get me wrong the stuff is very pigmented so a little goes a long way!

I totally fell in love with their STUDIO line. Everything is great and I got a coupon code for 50% off on all studio products so I ordered almost 2 of everything… Everything is great. But you girls must know their colors do run a little dark so get a color lighter than what you normally wear.

I have heard many people complaining about their makeup being too orange but I think they dont realize they are applying too much!

I use to wear MAC and that would make me break out like crazy! So it’s not cheap stuff that makes you break out just depends on your skin and what works for it…But If you are worried about it making you break out, Why not order just a few things? Atl least 15 things to get free shipping… Always search online for coupons. They always have GREAT deals they don’t promote.. or might have expired but actually still work!!! LoL

All in All, I definetly love their products and I will stick to them from now… I mean why spend more when this is as good if not better!!!???

I liked the colors of their eyeshadow because I love plum eyes but I don’t think the quality is good.

None of my friends who are professional make-up artists think good things of mineralizers. Also, they are TERRIBLE if you want to take photo’s because they have this natural shimmer which washes out your face in photo’s. If you want to use mineralizers for ‘every day’ use, power to you, but if you want to go out and look great AND take great photo’s you can’t go wrong with a good pressed power (I use Cover Girl pressed poweder which works wonderful over a good MAC foundation whom myself and other professional make-up artists friends of mine all agree create the best foundations).
