Moisturizers that Work on Sensitive, Rosacea-Prone Skin
Recently I switched moisturizers. My skin acted a little puzzled at first and now it’s not behaving. Not that it’s throwing a tantrum. It’s just, well, sort of indifferent. I had splurged on a more expensive French line (that will remain nameless) and the cheaper brand that I usually buy at my local drugstore is far superior. So I’m switching back.
What is that moisturizer? Why, it’s Eucerin Coenzyme 10, of course! (Nivea Coenzyme 10 cream is great too). Coenzyme 10 is a powerful antioxidant that protects you from those pesky free radicals. It’s also a compound that is made naturally in the body. The body uses it for cell growth and also to protect cells from damage that could lead to cancer. As you age, your levels of this compound decrease. So it’s beneficial to your skin to apply it. When I used it, I would wake up to smooth, even-toned skin. My sensitive, rosacea-prone skin just drank it up.
I’m also really missing Korres Rose Cream. I adore the smell and it gave my skin an even-ness that I really want back. If you find Korres a bit pricey, then buy the sample kit which includes the serum, the cream and the mask. All for $30 at Sephora.
I also received an email from DHC, a Japanese skin-care line that sells gentle, good-for-you skin products. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE their coenzyme 10 cream. I received a sample of it and literally, overnight, my skin looked phenomenal. Enough so that my boyfriend commented that my skin looked beautiful that morning. So can you believe that they are selling a great travel kit that includes their best selling olive soap, Coenzyme 10 cream, milk, and spray for $24.00? Oh my lord, I whipped out my credit card so fast, that Clint wouldn’t have had anything on me. Get on that, ladies!

I like your blog, I have nothing specific to comment on. But I always like to leave a good note when someone puts some effort into creating a site.

I bought the Made from Earth Rosehip & Hibiscus face serum at my local Whole Foods supermarket and was skeptical about it becaue it didnt seem so expensive at $20 for a face cream. I read the back of the bottle and it claimed to smooth skin and clear without drying. I was looking for a “glowing, balanced complexion” and it was exactly what I got! I’ve been using it for two weeks and here’s what I think so far:
Pros - Leaves skin feeling really clean and smooth, has a great pump dispenser. A little bit of the serum definitelt goes a long way. There is a great light scent, which I think comes from the hibiscus. It also helped a cystic pimple heal and it is actually fading dark spots and giving me an even compexion (In just two weeks!)
Cons - Since the serum is so powerful, you dont really need to use it everyday. A moisturizer should be used daily. The serum can be used every other day. . .
I have since decided to purchase on the website, because in the Whole Foods they are way more expensive…i think of the madefromearth website its only $14….well worth it…

Paula - My husband had very bad rosacea on his face. We tried many different creams, some commercial, some alternative “all natural”. He had no real luck. Then we came across a recommendation for the Made from Earth skin care line. There we found the Rosehip & Hibiscus Face Serum, which is ideal for rosacea. At $15 a bottle - we had nothing to lose since we alreday tried all the xpensive treatments that did not work!
It was inexpensive and having been burned before, I thought at least we’d only be out $15. I never expected it to work.
My husbands Rosacea is gone. Seriously. He uses this every day. He noticed a difference in a month of continious daily use. Buy it - it is worth the price and more.
