Dr. Pepper Lip Smacker How Do I Love Thee

I’m in love. We’ve been involved for about 8 years now. Okay, it’s not really love, it’s obsession. It’s a real problem, and I hate to admit, but it’s an addiction.

This object of my affection, Bonnie Bell’s Dr. Pepper Lip Smacker ($1.60), has been there for me since my sophomore year in high school. Since then, I’ve always had one in my pocket or two to three in my purse. If I don’t, I kind of freak out. No, not kind of. I do freak out. It’s all I wear unless there is some sort of special occasion where I might wear some kind of gloss, but that’s always worn under my Lip Smacker.

I don’t know what it is about that particular flavor of lip balm that makes me this way. I don’t particularly like the flavor of soda or even drink much of it, for that matter, but I’ll always remember the first time I tried it in Lip Smacker form. I was given a trio package of flavors in a Christmas stocking: A&W Root Beer, Cherry 7-Up, and Dr. Pepper (angel’s singing). A&W was kind of weird and made my lips brown. No thanks. Cherry 7-Up was okay, but made my lips too pink. With Dr. Pepper, I was in love at first application. I don’t like to wear lip stick at all, and Dr. Pepper Lip Smacker helps my chapped lips, plus it gives me a tint of subtle color.

This is the only brand loyalty I have. I can use any kind of mascara, eyeliner, blush, or eye shadow, but the Dr. Pepper Lip Smacker is a necessity.

Kind of seems like lip balm addition is something silly, but check out Lip Balm Anonymous . Apparently, it’s not a laughing matter and they mean BUSINESS! I write this as I giggle to myself. Maybe I do need help.

Rumor has it that if you habitually use this product it kills brain cells and causes the user to twirl their hair uncontrollably….

    I’m just saying…..

    Amen, Sistah!

I came across your blog while I was searching for some photos of lip gloss - it’s my crack.

I have the Dr Pepper one in a caddy on my desk with a note of the side that says “If you steal my stuff, I will steal your soul.”

Nuff said - just nice to know there’s someone out there I can relate to as faras this is concerned! :o)

One of the most annoying things in the whole world is chapped lips! A lot of people experience this when the weather changes and it can be a nightmare. Chapped lips can become so bad that they are painful, cracked and even bleeding. There are many products out there that claim to help with chapped lips, but some of them don’t provide the healing benefits that you need. Chapped lips can also be a perfect entering point for infections, and that is never a good thing. There are some things that you can do to prevent and heal your chapped lips.

Don’t lick your lips! In colder weather or extremely hot dry weather, licking your lips can cause them to become chapped. If they feel dry, rub on some shea butter for moisture. This will not only hydrate your lips, but provides a protective barrier against cold weather and wind, which can easily chap your lips. Shea Butter is all natural, and it is perfectly safe to use on your lips. In fact, a lot of people eat Shea Butter in chocolates, or as an alternative to butter and oil!

Shea Butter is also great for making your lips soft and healthy. If you have rough lips, simply use Shea Butter several times a day or as needed. It is great for softening skin and healing dry skin. If you want your lips to be very soft, Shea Butter is one of the few all natural ingredients that will soften, heal, and protect dry and rough lips. Never be afraid to give your sweet heart a kiss again!

I have also used Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers since high school– unfortunately they have changed the formula and it smells, feels and tastes different. For a while, Bonne Bell sold the real original Dr. Pepper online, but now they no longer have it available.

A really good substitute is the Coca Cola Cherry Lip Smacker, available from the Coca Cola store online: www.coca-colastore.com It smells more like Dr. Pepper than the new Dr. Pepper formula. It is also the same color and texture.

I have one Dr. Pepper Biggie in the real original formula left — I will really miss this product. Should I open it or save it as a memento?

I admit it — I am obsessed with this product. I use it at least 20 times a day!

If you think you are addicted to Dr. Pepper balm, check these out! The pumpkin cheesecake has done me in for good! But I guess it is better than eating the real thing!
