To me, this one is a no brainer, but the CPSC sent out a press release this morning about a recall of the glow sticks they give away when you purchase their donuts.  There is a long lanyard string attached to them that is believed to be a “choking and strangulation hazard” to young children.  Yes, this does seem obvious, but there is no caution on the label of the giveaways that lets parents, who don’t have common sense, know about this potential danger to their children.

You may have seen commercials for Crayola’s Model Magic Fusion.  It looks like normal clay, but is model material made with a non-crumbling formula that won’t stick to your hands and air-dries.  It is supposed to be much softer than normal clay and easier to shape & mold.   I’ve only seen commercials for the insect & animal models, but today I found some Disney themed model sets that I think all kids would enjoy (recommended for ages 6 & up).

Why didn’t they have this fun play house when I was a kid!? This weekend I saw a commercial for Rose Petal Cottage, part of the Dream Town Collection by Playskool. I’m sure this will help young children (recommended for ages 3-5) see that doing the laundry like mommy is something fun rather than a burden. They also can rearrange the furniture and be their own decorator.
