Toys ‘R’ Us Says “No” to Controversial BPA Bottles
There have been many debates recently about whether or not parents should use baby products made with the chemical bisphenol A. The Washington Post Blog reported today that Toys R’ Us spokesman Bob Friedland has sent two emails to them stating the following:
“While the FDA has not changed its position on the safety of products made with Bisphenol-A (BPA), in light of growing consumer concerns on this topic, the company has been working with manufacturers to phase out all baby bottles and other baby feeding products containing BPA in its Toys”R”Us and Babies”R”Us stores nationwide.”
On Friday Canada became the first company to ban bisphenol A. Why doesn’t America do the same? Why not ban this chemical if there are studies that show it’s harmful? I’m sure we can find an alternative.
