When I found their site, I was looking for a birthday gift for my middle guy, who spends his days swiping my cooking spoons to fight off villains and proclaiming (in a not so inside voice) that, much like He-Man, he has “the power!” He’s grown tired of his blanket capes and I new I’d totally be supermom if I scored him an awesome cape for himself. I never dreamed I would actually find any that I could put his initial on. Score one for the good guys!
As I perused the site, I came upon their Cradles to Crayons offer. If you buy a cape for your own child at $17, you can also purchase a cape for a needy child at a discounted rate ($12). What an amazing idea. Sure, a cape isn’t exactly an ‘essential’ need, but the boost it would give a little guy or gal is priceless. After all, you can’t put a price on confidence. Giving a child who lives within very limited means a chance to be a superhero seems like a worthwhile cause to me.
