Cyber Monday Online Deals: Convenience Meets Savings

If you didn’t get out on Black Friday or weren’t able to get your hands on the Xbox 360 your son has been pining for, then hit the online shops and take advantage of Cyber Monday. Stores are still putting great deals online, and you can shop from the comfort of your home computer or err… umm… work PC… during your lunch hour, of course.

Most major retailers and small online shops alike are taking part in a brand new tradition, Cyber Monday, which is the Internet version of Black Friday. Over the last few years, physical stores haven’t been doing as well, mostly because the convenience of online shopping is more accessible and appealing to the American consumer, especially parents and grandparents.

Now, you can get anything your little cherub desires without the crazy traffic, hostile mobs and low odds of being the lucky parent to have your hand on the last Lalaloopsy Doll on the shelf. You have the virtual world at your fingertips and can have your son’s Iron Man Walking Rc Robot shipped right to your door.

Besides the obvious convenience, there are other advantages to making the most of Cyber Monday. For example, my nephew loves LEGOs, and it’s not just average sets of blocks his little heart desires anymore. He has several collections started: Star Wars, pirates, buildings, vehicles and many, many more. What can I say? The kid has a flair for architecture.

Because he has so many different collections started, we all take a gamble when we buy him a new set. This year, we wizened up. My brother went shopping on Black Friday and picked up a couple editions to his boy’s collection and then e-mailed us which remaining sets were at large. My little sis got to the list first, hit a Cyber Monday sale and shot me an e-mail telling me which set was off the table. I still got a great deal and we all avoided an awkward moment on Christmas morning.

The other thing I love about Cyber Monday is that I can hit the sales at stores that aren’t available in my area while my kids are watching “Sesame Street” or taking a nap. My niece loves clothes from Abercrombie & Fitch, but the nearest shop is an hour-and–a-half away. I’m excited to not have to drive all day for a cute hoodie and a pair of skinny jeans.

So, if there are still a few key ingredients you’re missing for your little ones’ perfect Christmas morning, then hit the Cyber Monday sales today. Saving cash and finishing your holiday shopping is great way to start the week.
